Coach Will Wong leads 11s to Gold Medal

Detroit, Michigan

The 11 Roshambo team competed in every tournament it participated in, the Junior National Championships was no exception. Throughout the season, 11 Roshambo fought in every SCVA 12s tournament. The consistent competition definitely prepared 11 Roshambo for the task.

In their first two days of play, 11 Roshambo was dominating. Their tough serving and passing were on point which made it difficult for their opponents to score. In the first round of the Gold Championship round, they faced off with Mad Frogs 11-2 team out of Texas. It was a short battle, but it guaranteed the team with a Bronze medal. In the Semi-Final, the Mad Frogs brought their 11-1 team to the battle. 11 Roshambo cruised in the first set, but was tested with Mad Frog's tough serving and attacking. The 11 Roshambo team faced their first road block of the tournament losing 23-25.

The third set was going to be an epic battle of two of the best 11s teams in the country. Leading for the most of the match, the Mad Frog team would not go away. With some tough digs and serves, 11 Rosh remained resilient and prevailed 15-13. It was a well fought battle! The next match was against OTVA out of Florida. The final match was dominated by SG Elite. The scores were 25-18 and 25-12.
With that win, 11 Roshambo was crowned 11 and Under National Champions!! Congratulations to the coaching staff, players and parents for their great support and sacrifice. Way to go!

11, 12 & 13 Roshambo all put together impressive runs at the tournament!
