An undefeated record at the Pacific Northwest Qualifier earns the squad a gold medal and a bid!

The girls of 13 Roshambo headed north over the holiday weekend. And although there weren’t any egg hunts, the squad certainly found a way to celebrate, picking up eight straight wins, a gold medal, and a USA Division bid.

“We played phenomenally as a team. We’ve been working a lot on how we see the game at practice and I think it really paid off in the tight matches,” said head coach Lisa Steenport.

The streak included two wins against crosstown-rival Mizuno Long Beach, one being an epic rematch in the finals.

“We just applied consistent pressure on our opponents while maintaining consistent composure on our side of the net. Consistency was definitely key. It was great to see all the hard work pay off. Championships aren’t won on the last day of tournaments, they’re won at practice. And latterly, we’ve been practicing like champions,” added an excited Steenport.

13 Rosh looks to continue their hard work at practice until the week of April 15 where they’ll play in both SCVA Mandatory 3 and the Far Western Junior National Qualifier in Reno, NV.
