After finishing second in their pool, the girls of 12 Elite made an incredible playoff run, making it all the way to the finals and earning a spot in SCVA Division 1.

“We banded together and grinded it out. We also gave maximum effort, which you could really see in our defense. Defense is all about effort and that’s where it really shows. We didn’t let a lot of balls hit the floor without making a move. It was definitely our best defensive tournament of the year, which is why we were able to do so well,” said head coach Sam Hould.

In pool play, 12 Elite accumulated digs and wins against 949 and Wave before losing a hard-fought match against Forza North. The loss, however, would set the stage for an epic playoff run where 12 Elite beat Mavericks in the quarterfinals and Laguna Beach in the semifinals. That set up a rematch against Forza North in the finals, where the girls would fall just short in a 3-game nail-biter.

“Forza North is a great team. All the credit in the world to them. That being said, I think if the girls work hard, we can give them a run for their money the next time we see them. Super proud of the girls this week. They played great,” concluded Hould.
