Both teams will start the season in SCVA Division 1!

14 Roshambo camps out at SCVA Qualifier #3!

14 ROSHAMBO swept their way through all three SCVA Qualifiers, registering a perfect 9-0 record and landing them a #6 ranking in Southern California.

“We’ve been really aggressive from the service line, which has been our focus in practice and it’s definitely been paying off. I’d say it’s a really big factor when we’re talking about our early success,” said Head Coach Vanessa Williams-Mukai.

The squad was also dealing with a less-than-full-strength squad due to illness and other factors, multiple times throughout the qualifier.

“It’s funny, I think going through some adversity like that does a lot for team dynamic. It shows the girls that we really do need absolutely everybody to be successful. I look forward to getting into some high-pressure matches this weekend at Triple Crown,” finished Williams-Mukai.

Triple Crown is a premier tournament this coming weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah, where the team will travel to play a lot of the top teams in the country. We know they’re ready.

15 ROSHAMBO also made it through the SCVA Qualifiers without suffering a loss, finishing 9-0 and earning the #2 overall seed in Southern California.

“One area of the game where we’ve been extremely consistent is offense. Both in-system and out-of-system. We can be a force there. And the great thing is, there’s still a lot of room to grow,” said Head Coach Ernest Banaag.

The squad will also head to Salt Lake City this coming weekend to take on the best in the country.

“We’re fired up,” said outside hitter Peyton DeJardin. “Like, really fired up,” she continued excitedly.

We all are. And we all can’t wait to see the fire in Utah.
