The girls of 10 Rosh are often looking up to their opponents who tend to be 2 years or older. That was no different at SCVA Qualifier 2, where all three adversaries were 12’s teams. Yet, the girls banded together, believed in each other, and finished second in the pool with a 2-1 record.

“The girls served well and played great defense, which allowed us to put constant pressure on every team. It’s really fun to see a team of ten-year-olds and below be successful against older, bigger teams. It really prepares them for being successful in the future and I was happy to be a part of it (even for a weekend),” said Coach Hugo Ayala, who was filling-in for Coach Don Jensen while he watched his daughter, Payton, compete at the 18’s qualifier in Dallas.

10 Roshambo pulled off impressive victories against Seal Beach and Beaumont VBC. Their only defeat came against top-seeded Prime. And it was a three-game barn-burner (18-25, 25-19, 9-15).

“There’s no doubt in my mind, that in three months, this team will be turning those tough three set matches. All the best to the girls,” expressed Ayala.

10 Rosh will next play February 24 at SCVA Qualiier #3.
